The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a group of 27 Earth-orbiting satellites, of which 24 are in operation and three extras in case any fail. When people talk about a "GPS," they usually are referring to a GPS receiver. The U.S. military developed and implemented this satellite network as a military navigation system but now lets everyone use the signals free of charge.

A common misconception among most people is how GPS works. GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites should not be confused with communication satellites used for wireless communications. They are two completely separate satellite networks. All of our systems use GPS satellites for location purposes. Our On-Line systems then use various wireless networks to communicate the location data to our servers so our customers can use built in vehicle tracking GPS to locate the vehicles/assets in real-time or historically.

A GPS antenna is connected to the unit with a lead wire or they are built in. The GPS antenna collects the GPS data and feeds it to the unit. The unit does some processing of events and speeds. Additionally, the GPS vehicle tracking unit has a wireless modem inside, similar to ones found in cell phones. This modem is used to communicate with Anytrackingsoftware servers. The GPS data is stored to memory and then sent directly from the vehicles unit to Anytrackingservers, where it is immediately processed into usable information for users. This all takes place in Real Time. Internet Explorer.

Our systems are easy to install. Simply hook up a ground, constant power wire, and a power wire that turns on and off with the ignition, mount the GPS antenna, and the system is ready to go. GPS and GSM antennas can be installed hidden under the plastic covering of cars dashboard. You can also choose to have the system professionally installed by any one of professional installation specialists.

Yes, some of Gosafe's hardware [HW] has a motion sensor built in. But we prefer to use it for different functions as the number of problems with motion detected trips is much greater than the benefit of having one less wire to connect. Some examples - if you use motion detection instead of detecting the beginning of a trip with the ignition wire, you are not getting time and place information about when and where the car was when it started or stopped its engine or began and ended a trip. The information is much more accurate and detailed in you do this with a simple ignition wire installation. If the vehicle does a lot of short trips, and stops for only a minute or two in between with the motion sensor will display this as one long trip. With the ignition wire installation you will see it displayed as individual trips.

There is different hardware for different applications. If you are choosing advanced version of hardware then you may need to connect many wires:

• Track the vehicles ignitions on and off.
• Connect to the Engine detection.
• Unlock your doors, flash the lights, and honk the horn.
• Disable the ignition or start the ignition.
• You can listen in on conversations inside the vehicle or talk with the driver.
• Analog inputs like fuel, temperature, etc
• Canbus inputs (must be installed by professional installer)

In short - it's very precise and detailed. Contrary to other GPS tracking system, Gosafe hardware is smart. All of Gosafe systems are using GSP module which are well re-known for its precision and stability. The hardware has predefined interval or triggered interval to upload the data to the Anytracking server where you can see all the details about the vehicle and its movements.

It all depends on the configuration and setting you will do for the system. If you set the interval or upload time to 30sec this means you can see every 30sec data on line.
OK, I see you are very detailed. How much data does the system transmit every month? Unfortunately, there is not easy answer to this question. The amount of data being transmitted depends on type of Gosafe hardware, how much a particular asset moves, its speed, number of trips and so on. Generally this is under 3.0 MB / Month.

NO! Many Gosafe tracking hardware has built in FLASH storage. The unit memory can store several weeks of tracking information. All the stored data is then transmitted to our servers when the GSM signal in restored upon request.
